Harvest commentary:
- Winter crop harvest activity now mostly complete in Queensland, with receivals still trickling into the Goondiwindi region, and slowing around the Burren Junction, Moree and Narrabri regions in northern NSW. GrainCorp staff and equipment continue to move south, to help with harvest activity in NSW and Victoria.
- Harvest activity in central and southern NSW continues to pick up pace, with sites receiving canola, barley and wheat. Although rainfall over the latter half of last week temporarily slowed receival activity, it picked up again over the weekend.
- In Victoria, harvest activity is underway in most regions, thanks to improved weather conditions over the week. Sites are predominantly receiving canola and barley, with wheat beginning to flow into the northernmost sites.
- Large outload program continues across the GrainCorp network, with over 150,000 tonnes of grain outloaded last week.
- The overall quality across all commodities has been excellent.
- Growers are encouraged to stay directly in touch with local site managers on opening hours and segregations.
- To provide growers with greater flexibility in their storage and marketing options, GrainCorp has made a significant update to its free storage period for this year’s winter crop receivals, extending it until 30 June 2024. The updated Grower Warehouse Agreement can be found, here.
